We describe the motivation, field locations and stellar selection for the ARGOS spectroscopic survey of 28, stars in the bulge and inner disk of the Milky Way galaxy across latitudes of b=−5∘ to −10∘. The primary goal of this survey is to constrain the formation processes of the bulge and establish whether it is predominantly a merger or instability remnant. From the spectra . W28 did not take spectra of all objects in my initial calibration target list. See attached spreadsheet for the master list, Open Office format. Column W shows which stars were chosen for this first list. Rows - are objects in the Gunn / Stryker atlas. SBIG Self Guiding Spectrograph CCD Camera with High Resolution Grating SBIG SGS HIGH RES Telescopes, Binoculars, Spotting Scopes, Microscopes, Riflescopes. We have recorded spectra of Titan's ν4 band ofCH4 at a higher resolving power (R=70,) than priormeasurements to better constrain the thermal structure of Titan'satmosphere from to km altitude. Radiative transfer analyses ofthe spectra .

In astronomy, stellar classification is the classification of stars based on their spectral characteristics. Electromagnetic radiation from the star is analyzed by splitting it with a prism or diffraction grating . "The CCD camera is a x pixels Audine - (KAFE Kodak CCD - pixel of 9x9 microns). The CCD is Peltier-cooled. For pixels along the dispersion direction the mean reciprocal dispersion is approximately Å/pixel ( groove/mm grating used for this Vega observation) and Å/pixel (for an optional groove/mm grating). The two methods were: a) the Barnes-Evans relation for (B-V), and 2) d 2 /R 2, with distances, d, from Hipparcos (for 5 of the 6 stars), and stellar radii, R, from the Stefan-Boltzmann relation (where temperature is known from spectral classification of KPNO coude feed spectra .

Experiments in this collection begin with Newton's experiments, showing that white light comprises the full spectrum of colours. One experiment hints that the spectrum continues beyond the visible.

We have atlas of grating stellar spectra at intermediate dispertion = book bspec to model the predicted grating-scatter for a representative sample of stellar types and object types that have been observed with the FOS.

This report announces an atlas of these bspec predicted spectra that will allow users of FOS exposures to estimate the degree to which their FOS data is a ected by grating. 2) Indicators and Symbols a angle of the light, illuminating the grating or prism, with respect to N b angle of the diffracted or refracted light, leaving the disperser, with respect to N F the median grating angle, half the way atlas of grating stellar spectra at intermediate dispertion = book a and b, required to calculate spectrometer dispersion.

Spectra of programme stars are classified by comparing the relative strength of specified features within a particular wavelength range (initially 3, A) against observations, taken to the same signal-to-noise and at the same dispersion.

The main dispersion is done by = 4 echelle-grating and the cross-dispersion by the combination of a prism and a grism. This special optical mounting allows us to record in one.

The main echelle grating is ruled on a mm×mm area, and has 79 lines/mm. The blaze angle is 63°, and the incidence angle is 71°.

We measure the stellar kinematic parameters from the SAMI data11 by fitting the spectra with the penalized pixel-fitting code (pPXF48), assuming a Gaussian line of sight velocity distribution (LOSVD), that is, extracting only the stellar velocity V and stellar velocity dispersion σ.
